Museum Collection: The initial items for the museums recording device collection would come from items loaned or donated to the museum from the Chris & Martin Theophilus Phantom Productions, Inc's Reel2ReelTexas vintage recording collection.

The Phantom Production, Inc.'s collection includes 150+ reel to reel (analog/open reel) tape recorders including:
• One of the original (only 112 manufactured) Ampex 200A's, (1947) the first American professional tape recorder (Capitol Records)
• The last Ampex manufactured the ATR-100
• One of the first German Studer T-26 Dynavox tape recorders (1949)
• One of a limited edition Roberts 1000 that records 4 track audio, as well as B&W video
• Many of the first and last recorders manufactured by Ampex, Roberts, Teac/Tascam, Pioneer, Technics and others
• 40+ different brands of reel tape recorders
• 100+ microphones from RCA, Electro Voice, Shure, Turner and many others
• Hundreds of manuals, catalogs, ads and relevant magazines

Additional museum devices would come from items donated to the museum and items specifically purchased to provide the broadest possible representation of the magnetic recording history. In addition to the magnetic recording devices (1930's to 1980's), other related technology will be included (cylinder player/recorders; record cutter/players, etc.).
